Bomb Blasts in Mumbai

July 11, 2006. Another cowardly killing of innocent men, women and children.
Mumbai's train service was rocked by 7 blasts all within a half hour. Official figures mentioned 174 odd casualties. Which means that the number of people that died was probably 500, if not a thousand.

Everybody knows which country is behind any such act. There is just one thorn in India's flesh. But alas..there is nothing we can do. The entire world also realises what is going on between India and Pakistan, but such is politics that truth is not truth if you dont want it to be. Despite all sorts of evidence amounting to the sponsored terrorism in India, nobody points a finger at where it should.

The world might be getting smaller and we might be becoming a global economy but with all the numerous 'rogue' states, it makes one wonder how long it is before there is a massive meltdown.
Wonder how and when this would be solved...but for now - why should all those innocent people die over some piece of land ?

AIIMS

Yey another example of the blatant misuse of power by politicians.

A two pence politician who is the union health minister just because of caste politics apparently had some ego hassles and ended up with a dislike for one of India's top doctors Dr P Venugopal; and got him sacked from the post of Director of India's premier health Institution - the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).

As of last reports the matter is not finished yet...the high court has been moved, and there are wide spread protests and a doctors' strike against this decision.

Well, people will strike and make a hue and cry about it, but in a week the government will find a way out of the mess and eventually just do what it likes. Can we have some semblence of accountability from the people who (unfortunately) decide the direction in which the country moves ?

Rang De Basanti

So i saw this movie today...' rang de basanti'. Very inspiring.

A very recent revolutionary movie back home in India. Drawing a parallel between the freedom fighters who fought the british in the first half of the last century, and the current need for people to rise up again against the rampant corruption in the country.
India is a great nation...but has been subject to a lot of abuse by the people who have been at the helm. And it is high time something were done about it.

We need more 'rang de basanti's ' and that sort of spirit of doing something for the country..of putting the nation above other things and for once not thinking only for ourselves.
